Safety & Care

All swings purchased from Sewn and Wood should only be used under adult supervision. Children should never be left unattended when using the swing.

All swings come with a quality ring and carabina and are made with safety and durability in mind. Wooden beads are left in their natural, raw timber state.

Swings can be hung inside or outside from a correctly installed ceiling hook/eye bolt (not included) or from any suitable beam or tree branch.  Any hanging point should be able to hold the specified weight. Sewn and Wood take no responsibility for how the swings are installed for use.

Fabrics used are 100% cotton and will withstand some weather however care should be taken to avoid exposure to the elements for any prolonged period.

If your swing is going to be used outside, purchasing one of our swings made from specific outdoor fabric is advisable. However, all swings will last longer if stored inside and out of the sun/wind/rain.

Fabrics can be spot cleaned or hand-washed however the timber, beads and ropes are not designed to be submerged for washing.

Swings should be checked before each use for any signs of damage. If your swing shows signs of weather damage etc please discontinue using it.

Please inspect teether before each use and check by pulling on it. Discard teether at the first sign of any wear or after 6 months (the safety of the teether cannot be guaranteed after this time).

Teethers are only for use by babies under 12 months of age.

Sewn & Wood take no responsibility for items used in ways other than originally intended.

Our teethers are made with 100% Beech wood that is unvarnished, untreated & unpainted. Beech has natural anti-bacterial properties, and therefore does not promote the growth of mould and fungus. Beech is also very easily cleaned; simply wash in warm, soapy water and allow to air dry.

We use silicone products that are made from high quality, food grade silicone that is free from BPA, mercury, lead & cadmium, phthalates, PVC & latex.

The silicone beads and timber used in teethers have all been tested and comply with the relevant Australian Standard (AS/NZS ISO 8124:3:2012). Our teethers are all made to comply with the Australian Standard (AS/NZS ISO 8124).

The wood used in the teether is left unfinished but can be coated in oil (coconut oil, avocado oil, natural beeswax) if desired.

Toy bags are washable however, hand-washing is recommended as the best option to prolong the life of your bag.

Nappy wallets are able to be washed, hand-washing is advised. Change mats are also able to be washed by hand.
